Toy Story 5 Trailer Pits The Beloved Duo Versus a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 years after the first Toy Story film debuted, establishing Pixar as a leading animation studio and bringing viewers to iconic characters like Woody (the actor) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
In 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a brief look into the plot but leaving viewers curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang
The preview reveals the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he grew up — getting a brand new plaything, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie acquires her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the toys seem to view it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it probably is.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer avoids is what the sheriff is back with his companions in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), journeying with a fair and helping prize toys find good homes.
Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in the familiar setting without warning is a little strange, though. It also raises questions whether his partner will have come back with Woody. And where is Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?
Continuity from the Last Installment
At the very least, some aspects are carrying over from the earlier movie. The final act the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was pass his symbol of authority to Jessie (Joan Cusack), entrusting her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser displays the insignia attached to her shirt.
Hopefully she is remains the key figure among the group.
Toy Story 5 debuts on June 19, 2026.
